We felt it was important to share with our members and partners about an important new change that is coming to UK Federal Credit Union and it’s an exciting change that reflects our commitment to growth.

Since 1937, UK Federal Credit Union has been committed to providing exceptional service, great rates, and value-oriented financial services to Lexington and the surrounding communities. In our conversations with state leaders, educators, and non-profits from around the state, we have heard a consistent message – there is a deep need for increased financial education with our youth, and quality financial tools and products that help people not just get by but get ahead.

We’re incredibly excited to take our award-winning products and member service to Northern Kentucky, and Ashland Kentucky in 2026. And more so, we are embracing the opportunity to make a positive impact on these new communities as we know when the community thrives, everyone thrives.

Beginning April 6th, you will begin to see our new logo and brand across all UK Credit Union locations and digital banking platforms.

On April 6th, you will begin to see the new logo appear on all branches and digital platforms, including our website and online banking.

UK Credit Union is focused on not only assisting our neighbors in Central Kentucky, but throughout the Commonwealth. We’re here to support all Kentuckians. The logo change is a visual representation of our commitment to grow, and help Kentuckians in all communities to not just get ahead, but stay ahead. Additionally, as a Credit Union established in 1937, this allows us to update and modernize our visual brand to continue to attract new members that will sustain long-term growth of the Credit Union and supports all members in the various financial tools and services we offer.

Members will see a sneak preview of the logo on March 23rd, and the public will see the brand unveiled on April 6th. Please keep in mind that while we are attempting to make the brand switch in one fell swoop, some items may take longer to see the changes reflected.

Technically, our legal name will remain ‘University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union’ on all NCUA correspondence/forms, legal documents, contracts, and disclosures. The removal of ‘federal’ has several underlying purposes: (1) approximately 76% of our members already call us something besides University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union; (2) it consolidates our name making it easier for members and employees to say.

The most impactful member-facing changes that will occur are an updated look with the mobile banking app, an updated website design, and our web URL – ukcreditunion.org.

Yes, all email addresses will change to reflect our new domain – ukcreditunion.org. However, the Credit Union will be forwarding all emails to former email addresses behind the scenes. We anticipate no disruption in email correspondence.

No. Nothing will be changing with your accounts, our routing number, or online banking access.

We do not plan to replace debit and credit cards, as well as checks, for the sole purpose of updating the logo. When your cards expire, you will receive a new debit/credit card as you typically would, but it will feature the new logo and brand designs.

A Brand with a Purpose


As we rolled out our new brand, including purpose statement and core values to our employees, we wanted the change to be tangible, to be visible. We decided to lead our teams on an exercise showcasing our commitment to doubling down on community investments and partnerships.  

We partnered with One Parent Scholar House who helps single parents earn a post-secondary education by providing a comprehensive program that includes affordable housing, childcare, counseling and so much more for the families.

Understanding the needs of these single parents with children, and the burden that they can sometimes have for providing for their children while focusing on their dreams and ambitions of growing their educations and careers, UK Credit Union provided many of the children with bicycles as spring approaches in Kentucky.
